Contruction And Demolition Debris Recycling 
Crown Disposal is proud of its ability to help residents and contractors recycle construction and demolition debris, often called C&D debris. We offer a full range of technical assistance
services in addition to excellent customer service related to hauling roll-off containers. Our   client list ranges from small one-load renovation jobs to municipal construction services  contracts and large development projects such as Playa Vista.

Waste Audits and Planning for Service Needs
Crown Disposal staff is experienced at helping contractors estimate debris quantities,
identifying recycling opportunities, filling out LEED and Municipal Recycling Ordinance 
paperwork, and overall planning for service needs.

Recycling Mixed C&D Debris
Crown Disposal brings all loads of mixed C&D debris to a mixed C&D recycling facility 
operated by its sister company, Community Recycling, in Sun Valley. This state-of-the-art
facility uses both mechanical and manual sorting methods to extract recyclables such as
metal, wood, organics, brick, cardboard, and inerts such as concrete, asphalt and dirt. This   facility's ability to achieve rates of 81-85% by processing mixed loads helps improve the
environment. It also helps contractors save both the labor costs related to separating
materials as well as space on cramped construction sites.

Recycling Source-Separated C&D Materials
Some materials are easier than others to collect in separate categories in a short period of time. One example would be large loads of asphalt and concrete from tearing up a parking lot or demolishing a concrete or brick structure. Another example would be a very large quantity of wood that can be kept separate in one roll-off container. Crown Disposal also offers services for these types of loads. The wood is brought back to its Sun Valley site for grinding and delivery to a biomass alternative energy facility owned by another Crown Disposal sister company. The concrete and asphalt is delivered to a rock crushing operation that makes road base material or other products.

Compliance with Municipal C&D Ordinances
Many cities are passing municipal ordinances requiring developers and contractors to achieve certain recycling rates. Requirements include writing recycling plans and estimating quantities and types of materials generated at the site. Deposits are often required, which can be forfeited if reports documenting that the recycling took place are not submitted after the project ends. Crown Disposal staff are familiar with all of these local requirements and can help our clients fill out paperwork and document recycling rates.

Reports quantifying the quantities and types of C&D materials hauled and recycled are essential for compliance with municipal C&D ordinances, fulfillment of customer requests, contractor tracking procedures, and/or other environmental and/or local government requirements. Crown Disposal can provide customers with the type of detailed reports, and backup detail, that can satisfy the most stringent reporting requirements.

LEED Projects
Crown Disposal is a member of the US Green Building Council and regularly provides services for LEED projects, ensuring compliance with LEED requirements at all levels. Diversion reports provided upon request.
